Berkhamsted Chiropractic Clinic Spinal Awareness Week 2018Spinal Awareness Week is coming in May

After a short break we're back, so stay tuned as we have lots of news! First up: Spinal Awareness Week is coming in May..

Spinal Awareness Week is run every year, promoting the importance of taking care of your spine and nervous system through Chiropractic and a healthy lifestyle. The week is run by The United Chiropractic Association who represent a growing body of chiropractors focused on transforming healthcare globally.

The theme of this years Spinal Awareness Week is “Chiropractic – Not just how you feel but how you function.”

We aim to educate you about the reasons for checking spines of all ages and to provide our message that through chiropractic adjustments, exercise and diet advice, we can have a huge effect on the health of not just those in pain but the whole family.

Berkhamsted Chiropractic Clinic On Your Feet Britain 2018Can we encourage you to stand more? It's easier than you think. Here are some simple ideas to try and insert into your daily routine:

Stand during phone calls
Stand and take a break from your computer every 30 minutes
Use the stairs
Have standing or walking meetings
Eat your lunch away from your desk
Walk to your colleague's desk instead of phoning or emailing them
Stand at the back of the room during presentations
Or do what we did and use a stand up desk! You don't have to stand all day - just more than you were before!

If you wanted to take it a step further then the On Your Feet Britain Challenge dares you to convert 'sitting time' to 'standing time' by challenging your colleagues. Friday 27th April 2018 is your chance to get the ball rolling and encourage your employees to take a stand. Team up with colleagues and see how much "sitting time" you can reduce on the day.

Why not take on a team challenge? Join-up with your co-workers and work together and compete with other teams within your organisation. You could even advertise your event by setting up an 'On Your Feet Britain' page on your company website to get the whole office involved.
